Buttermilk (Homemade Probiotic)

Buttermilk is a tasty soothing drink made from yogurt. It is a great probiotic, helps in calming the increased vata in the colon, effective for bloating and indigestion.

Ingredients:

¼ cup homemade yogurt

¾ cup cold water (not fridge or ice water)

5-6 fresh curry leaves

¼  tsp cumin powder

pinch aesofetida

himalayan pink salt to taste

Blend yogurt with water until the butter floats on the top. Blend curry leaves, and add  cumin powder, aesofetida and  salt to taste.

Optional: Small piece of ginger added to boost the digestion.

Note: Yogurt is made form non homogenized, pastureized whole milk.
